A native of Houston, Texas, Mr. Alexander attended the Houston Ballet's Ben Stevenson Academy on full scholarship and was invited to join Houston Ballet II where he performed works by Stanton Welch, Ben Stevenson, August Bournonville, and Sir Kenneth McMillan and performed with the Houston Ballet in their annual production of The Nutcracker. He later joined the Joffrey Ballet of Chicago, as an apprentice, performing as the Yellow Boy in Arpino's Confetti, a Young Man in Antony Tudor's Offenbach in the Underworld, and various roles in Robert Joffrey's The Nutcracker. With the Rochester City Ballet he has danced in Hoedown and Bravo! Colorado with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, the Mouse King, Arabian Prince, Spanish and Cavalier in The Nutcracker, as Peter in Peter and the Wolf, the Evil Kastchei in Firebird and has been featured in Ms. Leverett's LumaVoce and How to Break a Heart. Mr. Alexander was chosen to perform Gerald Arpino's Valentine, Patrick Corbin's Shady III, and was the Elegy Boy in Balanchine's Serenade. Ms. Leverett chose him to dance as Dracula in the world premiere of her newest work, The Blood Countess. Mr. Alexander recently completed a tour of Japan as a guest performer with Les Ballets Grandiva. In the spring of 2009, he was chosen along with (then) RCB apprentice Courtney Catalana, as one of 24 couples worldwide, to compete in the prestigious New York International Ballet Competition.
